ACCELERATE INTO SPARKLING STATE

Holding down the direction buttons left or right for a while will cause Pulseman to burst into a sprint. When he does this he enters "Sparkling State". Sparkling State is where electricity is generated by Pulseman's movement which eventually discharges around his body. This state is very useful.

LIGHTNING DASH

Pressing either of the directional buttons (left or right) twice in quick succession will cause Pulseman to use Lightning Dash. In this move, Pulseman shoots forward in the direction he's facing. After this move, Pulseman is left in Sparkling State, which is very useful if you need this state quickly or in a small area where you can't move enough to break into a sprint.

Whilst using this move, Pulseman can't be hurt by enemies. He'll also be able to "jump" over gaps as he doesn't fall during this move.

B
PULSE RUSH

When you press the B button when Pulseman is not in Sparkling State, he will use Pulse Rush. This is a powerful discharge of electricity from Pulseman's fist. Underwater this turns into a swipe, as his electricity doesn't work under water.

WITH SPARKLING STATE
SLASH ARROW

When you press the B button when Pulseman is in Sparkling State, he will use Slash Arrow. This is a powerful discharge of electricity from Pulseman's fist that gets shot in the direction he's facing to attack distant enemies. This attack can't be performed under water.

A
"SPARK"

This attack doesn't seem to be named in the manual, however, it's what happens when you press A when not in Sparkling State. Pulseman will spark in place, turning into a ball of electricity similar to a Volteccer. This move can be used to attack very close enemies, or enter wires. This move does not work under water.

A
WITH SPARKLING STATE
VOLTECCER

When you press the A button when Pulseman is in Sparkling State, he will use Volteccer. This is possibly the most important move in the entire game and a lot of the levels require it for you to proceed. Pulseman's whole body turns into a mass of electricity and shoots diagonally upwards in the direction he was facing.

Whilst in Volteccer mode, Pulseman will ricochet off of walls, floors and ceilings until there is no surface to rebound off of, in which he will then exit the move shortly after and fall to the ground. Whilst using this move, Pulseman becomes immune to damage from enemies and even hazards such as spikes. He will destroy enemies in his path and rebound off spikes without being hurt.

You can press A, B or C whilst using this move to exit the move and return to normal. This move does not work under water.

KICK

When crouching, pressing B will cause Pulseman to kick out. This is a very useful move against short enemies such as I See when you're standing at the same level as them and a Pulse Rush or Slash Arrow is too high range.

BACK SPIN KICK

If you press the B or C buttons whilst Pulseman is looking up, he will kick up into a backflip. This move is handy for attacking enemies above you, especially when electric attacks won't work.



A/VOLTECCER

WIRE
WIRE ACTION

If you press the A button when standing next to a wire, or Volteccer into a wire, Pulseman will start to travel along it. Whilst Pulseman is riding a wire, any enemies he touches will be destroyed. The travel will be cancelled when you reach the end of a wire.

Whilst travelling along a wire, it's possible to swap over to another wire if it is close and parallel to the wire you're on. You can do this by pressing the d-pad in the direction in which you want to move.

If you press A, B or C whilst riding a while, Pulseman will burst out of the Volteccer and then fall. Sometimes you can Spark next to a different wire whilst in free fall and continue travelling along it.
